Another good episode. I was flattered that you used my suggestion and thought the least I could do was make one of them. I made a few variations of the Campari & IPA and also tried a Campari Pilsener. I varied the ratio of Campari to IPA (I used Strathcona Head Banger) and found I preferred a one to four ratio rather than the BBC rario of one to six. I also tried it with varying amounts of the blood orange pop. Too much and it becomes too sweet of course.
Since I had a tall can of Steamworks Pilsener (one of the best BC pilseners by the way), I substituted it for the IPA. It wasn't a bad drink and someone with an aversion to too much bitter would probably prefer it.
As far as the Raspberry beer drink, I see the original BBC recipe called for a Lindeman's Framboise which is a much better and more expensive beer than the Granville Island beer. I see that Trading Post in Langley has just come out with a raspberry beer.
That might be a better choice.
As I said previously I have been comped beer cocktails in the past (I work part time with a craft beer mag) but I have never ordered one. I don't think that will change but I will make the Campari IPA at home. So thanks for that!
